"2011 16th Annual Billy Sandifer Big Shell Beach Cleanup Saturday March 19th”

The 16th Annual Big Shell Beach Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, March 19th. Volunteers will meet at the Malaquite Pavilion near the visitor’s center within Padre Island National Seashore no later than 7 a.m. Admission to the park is free for those working the Cleanup. Trash pickup ends at 1:30PM.
Everyone is welcome. Volunteers without 4WD vehicles will be furnished rides to the work area.
Volunteers with 4WD vehicles are needed to transport workers, haul trash and to pull trailers. Flatbed trailers also are needed. Trash bags will be provided.
Recommended clothing includes long sleeve shirt, long pants, cap and gloves. Drinking water will be provided. And lunch will be available afterwards around 2 p.m., so bring a snack if you like.
CCA's Corpus Christi Chapter will serve hotdogs and drinks, while Daniel Dain's Corpus Christi area Domino's Pizza Restaurants will have plenty of pizza on hand for hungry volunteers. While supplies last, each volunteer will receive a commemorative t-shirt.
Volunteers with 4WD vehicles who arrive late are welcome to drive down the beach to join work crews.
Since the beginning, more than 3,900 volunteers have removed over 2 million pounds of trash from Big Shell Beach during good and bad weather. YOU ARE AND WILL ALWAYS BE "MY HEROES." See you on the beach Saturday March 19th!

We were there in '09 and missed '10 and guess which year i was able to make more trips to the coast. i agree with the karma remark. Very Happy

Fyi,
Here is the front design of this year's t-shirt. Billy doesn't like it because he thinks it makes it look like it is about "him". Ace and I told him, no it is that your loyal minions want to honor your efforts in conservation and this is one way we can do it.

My crew of artists are going to love that shirt! Need more extra larges and mediums this year though. Had to settle for 5 larges last year, so no one got a shirt that fit.
