despite all the gloom and doom news of red tide which should subside after this coming cold front if the experts are right, me and my 16ft" flat bottom girl"had and awesome day sunday along with a buddy of mine we managed to horse in 6 keeper reds not counting the oversized throw backs.plus 6 trout 18-22. just hitting areas from pita to pure oil. 1/2 on topwaters despite the floating grass and the rest on plastics.im glad i had panchos in the boat.we got rained on a few times.ever since i was a kid growing up fishing in the lower lagoon fishing was always good when its raining. before a front, low pressure on the barometer, 29.7. 29.8.but thats just me im sure there are experts that might argue with me but i turn 50 next week and i dont argue. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

Great report! The doom and gloom on the red tide was not meant for the Laguna though I am sure there were a few fish killed up by Packery Flats.
Nickaway reported dead fish flowing out of Packery so it must have infiltrated some.
The only problem we have seen in the upper Laguna has been with brown tide which does not harm the fish just makes it harder to catch them on lures That floating grass does make it tough on those topwaters.

Yep, been brown tide stained water from powerlines to emmords last couple of years. Used to be clear all in there like up north. Remember them days. _________________ -STAY THIRSTY MY FRIENDS!- |
