"But hardheads? I was in disbelief. I talked with a fishing guide I know and he said, "Yeah, they're good to eat. Not much meat on them, but they're good." Confused

Massive earthquakes in Japan, volcanoes erupting in Chile, scores of dead birds falling from the sky, 1/2 the Midwest underwater from flooding, tornado outbreaks on a weekly basis, wildfires scorching the other 1/2 of the west, AND NOW THIS!!! Eating hardheads Surprised Surprised Surprised

Maybe Harold Camping was right after-all, and the Apocalypse is indeed upon us. Very Happy

Sarcasm? Surely I hope so. I'm a native, born and bred Spohn Hosital child, and I "ignorantly" left flat tires for beachcombers via wheels for many a year due to the trash fish! Not once Have I tried to eat 'em. If 99 percent of fishermen have "hear-say", or a "reason" not to eat them, more the incentive for me to cook 'em....That is not to say I'd eat 'em. My next trip to the coast I'lll prepare 'em, have photos online, and have a taste comparison with the blues and channels up here! In the meantime, keep those pesky bait-stealers in "decline." :-p

We caught more than our fair share of world class hardheads in Destin last week, as in 16-18" or so. Plenty of meat there and of course they're just catfish, but in all honestly, catfish are a last resort for this family when there are so many better alternatives in fresh AND salt water!!! Wink
