So Bizzy and I decided to forget the harsh winter conditions and go in search of some fish out on the last frontier. It took us a while but we eventually made it to where some folks said there were good fish. Unfortunately it was Alaska. By this time we were running low on cheetos, so it was time to fish. I dropped down and snagged a decent snapper.

Then Scott’s big line started screaming. He cranks down on it and begins a battle that would last the better part of a half an hour. The beast finally surrenders itself and I get a good shot of it before Scott gets a clean release.

Not fifteen minutes later my big line blasts off and it was my turn to manhandle a 250-300 lb beast.

After the epic battles, and a couple of jacks slayed for future shark bait… We decided to roll on home. We see a few blow-ups ahead and Scott runs to get whatever he can find. When he turns around holding the tiniest Trinidad ever made and a speed jig on it all I could say was, “Really Dude?” Despite my skepticism, he was able to bullseye one of the churning monsters and then it was on! For about an hour we chased that thing around, and after getting nearly spooled three times, he lands a nice little marlin.

All in all, not a bad trip. just a lot of driving…

the results more than pay for whatever it took/cost to get there. glad you had a great time. when time allows, driving allows you to see a lot more country & scenery.
