This is my first post so hopefully the picture works out...
Was in Kingsville and decided to try out 55 for the first time.
Me and the wife headed out about 2 in the afternoon and waited about half an hour before we got our first bite. 14" drum. Caught several more that size, but only kept the two that looked worth keeping. Called it quits after about two hours and headed out.

Wanted to get another round in before heading back to Houston, so we set out around midnight ignoring the rain. Weather settled to a misty drizzle when we arrived at 55.
Within a few minutes of our first cast we landed a drum, and every cast from there brought in a drum over 14". Decided we would only keep the ones over 15", but still managed to get our limit within the hour. All caught on small chunks of shrimp.

I had always wondered that myself until I started reading this forum. Check out the sticky "Map of fishing spots that don't require a motorboat" at the top of the saltwater page

Didn't know where a good spot was, so I just drove until I hit the water and where the sand was hard. I have a constant fear of getting stuck. Was casting as far as I could throw... worked well enough
All the fish are there, don't rememer which is which, but the three larger ones were from the second trip... my wife caught two of the big ones, but I think the smaller ones put up more of a fight.
