I decide to put this under it's own topic. Come on Tyler, let's go offshore!!!!
Let's start this year off right with getting another CC fishing forum offshore trip going! ccbobber has stepped up to the plate again and offered to do the organizing/money taking part, and he also had a great recommendation: Everybody pitch in an extra $10 and DEMAND that Tyler come along gratis!!!!!
Bob says that there are 5 folks he can count on already counting me and himself......... surely 15 more of you are willing to make the commitment?!?
Last time was a freaking HOOT, and only one nameless soul got seasick!!! The gas prices will kick my a$$ on the way down and back, but that's life, and I'd love to see and fish with my old buds from last time and meet some new ones too! _________________ Dave

| I'm in and like the idea of the "Tyler Fund" for keeping this forum up and running. Any ideas regarding a date? |

Last time we went May 5th. You guys on that end know lots more about the weather trends that time of year, but the coastal bend is one WINDY SOB when the land starts heating up and the water's still cool, as in that early. The seabreeze moderates some as the water warms.
If I remember correctly is was blowing about 20 - 30 mph that day with seas pushing 7' or so, and had been blowing the oysters off the rocks (25-35 MPH) for many weeks before hand!!!
I'm not going the second guess or bitch about ANY date within reason, but whenever it is, I'd sure like to see us geared towards going somewhere and sometime that we'd all have a chance to get into more Mahi, tuna and Ling to name just a few. On the last trip I think that only one Mahi was taken on live bait, but it was a nice one!!! The haul was probably 90% beeliners. Hey................... STILL a great time though!!!! _________________ Dave

That sounds Great! I'd like to get in on this one and my "soon-2-be" son-in-law too! Anyone have a guessimate as to cost and how long is the trip (hours - duration)? I have to pay for a wedding, also. _________________ Character is doing the right thing because it is the right thing to do, not because someone else is making you do it.

I'm all over waiting for snapper season to be open.................... like a cheap suit!!!
Seriously, I have no idea what the others were catching, but I caught at LEAST 6-8 red snapper that had to be turned back, and watched as they floated on their backs to die. Makes a WHOLE lotta sense, like spending a butt load of money to get out of debt!!!!
I'd like to see the whole hog, 12 hour trip like last time. It take a while to get out there and back. It's nice to have plenty of time to fish. _________________ Dave

this is BIG MOUTH cc bobber talking, it appears that a lot of interest in an offshore trip is about. as i have said before, i will contact the operators, put up the numbers and see if we can get 20. at 20, we control the boat and the capt. skipped the shark reef to better our chances for other toothy
beasts. memory tell me that the catch 2 years ago included: 24 lb african
pompano, numerous kings, a ling and limits of beeliners and a few amberjack keepers(out of a dozenish caught).
memory also tells me it was a Wednesday trip. any input as to weather guesses(deadwrongdalewannabees), seasons of fish, etc is totally open to discussion within reason.
emails are best. bob@bordynpc.com put fishing trip in "subject"
one small problem was special poles set out by crew and handed to closest person upon strike. maybe a name drawing?

Yes, the live bait fishing off the down current side of the transom needs to be passed around.
I caught something like 4-5 AJs myself, all just under size. I forgot to include that in my wish list!!!! I also caught a ling of about 26-28 lbs and I believe there were others, maybe I'm wrong. _________________ Dave

I just spent 10 minutes looking for this. All I found sounds as if there ISN'T a red snapper season open this year in those federal waters and that AJ season may be closed in June and July Too!!!!!
Someone who knows better than I, please correct me if I'm wrong and give us the facts. _________________ Dave
