A buddy of mine is coming down in October to do some bird hunting at my place. He also wanted to go fishing and found a guide that wants to charge him $1000.00 for a half day trip in Rockport. Any help or suggestions personally I think that is a ripoff.

If he is fishing out of Rockport he may want to give Dean Monroe a call to try and book a trip. I used to book with him to take out clients and he always put us on the fish. He was less than half the cost you posted.

I don't know who it is, but I still cant believe that this guy wanted to charge him that much. I would like to find someone here in corpus to guide him. Any suggestions so I can get something booked would be appreciated.

1000 bucks is the norm for an offshore charter.. they normally burn 100 gallons of gas anyhow.. inshore expect to pay half that.

There ain't no fish in rock port. I'll take him fishing if i'm not working. He can pay for gas and coffee and snacks. Which comes to about 3 bills. Very Happy

look up Capt. Black, he's in Rivera though, but they do a "cast n blast" every year either for dove or ducks when in season and they are no where near that price you listed above...

"Better make sure they throw in some KY for free..."

And maybe a barrel? Serious rip-off.
