They aren't too bad but the backlog is the problem there. Now if you aren't fishing for a month or so maybe that'll be fine for you.
Lupe is the reel goddess there and does a good job. I take my stuff to her when I have a problem I can't handle ( I.E. when I put the reel back together and there is a spring and a screw left over) |

Hey Tyler
Small parts that are left over are called pocket screws.

Don't overlook Bob at Gulf Tackle.
He does my Penns, Quantums and Abus. I take my Shimanos to Roy's.
Tyler, it's nice to know others have parts left over as well.... |

Bob at gulf tackle is looking at moving to S.A. to work for his son. He is trying to sell his shop which will be a sad day in corpus fishing history. Back in the day that was the shop to goto to get the latest and greatest gear. I can recall visiting his shop several times a week when I was younger as I used to live just down the street. The many fishing stories and reports and photos from PINS before it was called PINS are priceless.

| No Academy does not clean reels. Spinning reels are easy though. Isn't much to them at all just pull the sideplate off and spay it down with some corosion X or something to remove corosion let it soke, scrub it down, and clean it dry. Then take some reel grease and grease the gears and them take some reel lube and put a dropn on the moving parts. Thats it then put it back together. Like new again. |
