I am looking at purchasing a Stick-It anchor. Does anybody have one, does it work good? Do yall have the "brake" system or just the rope that ties to the cleat?
I have a 18' shoalwater...
Also read about stake out stick and wang anchor, any body use those?

I have a Stiffy 8 foot stake out pole. It works OK. Issues I have had are that is is tuff to stick into hard sand. Not sticking in far enough and it does'nt hold. On a windy day with winds at 20MPH I doubt if you can make it hold and 18 foot boat especially if you have one or two passengers.
I have had one for over a year and I have started a Power Pole fund and will buy one as quickly as possible. Even now I will entertain offers for mine,.
all the best

Not sure what a Stick-it anchor is but I think I have seen them. I agree that I don't think it will hold an 18' boat. I have a Stiffy and use it to push around with. I also have a Power Pole and won't trade it for anything. Greatest thing to have on a boat. Got the little handheld control and can work it from any where on the boat. It's great. Especially for old men like me. I have even seen them used in place of a drift sock. I've never done that but I have seen it done. _________________ Diplomacy is the art of saying "Nice doggie" until you can find a rock.

a stake out stick will hold your boat for sure if you can get it a foot into the ground.. Capt Aubrey Black uses one to hold his 23 foot haynie in baffin.. and it does fine.. I have had my steak out stick hold my boat in 40 mph winds.. I do have a power pole now.. but i still bring the stick in heavy winds for backup.
I'm not familiar with the other brands. but I'm sure they are all similar. |

Power pole = $1600-$1800
Stick-it with the brake = About $160
It should hold your boat, especially with the brake. The "T" handle on top makes it pretty easy to put some weight into the pole and push it into sandy bottom. _________________ What's good for me ain't necessarily good for the weak minded.... |

| I have a stake out stick I got at the boat show 2 years ago that is suppose to be for a 21 foot boat. I have not used it yet but since I started fishing the potholes I want to try it out. If after I try it and don't like it I will sell it too you. |
