One of the lower threads got me thinking about an idea i already had. Keep in mind i wont be in teh area till mid june or fishing till July. Im not even sure if its legal so i thought i would ask. I dont want to blatantly break the law or anyhting.............
I have stockpiled about 7-8 plastic buckets that our cat litter comes in (18"x12"). What is the feasability or legality of addign weight to these, filling with fish parts (frozen of course) and drilling holes in it?. I was thinking this would be a great chum bucket idea to put out in the area i plan on fishing down PINS.
Thoughts?
EDIT: I was thinking of tying some line and a bouy to them.. i hate litter bugs and would most definately retrieve them when done. |

No legal issues as long as the carcasses weren't from a game fish. But I think you'll hear from people that chumming near the beach is pretty much a wasted effort. _________________ certified whiting slayer |

I run my cleaned fish carcasses through my meat grinder. I figure why waste it, and then freeze. I use that stuff for chumming on my offshore yak trips. Stuff is ground up into a "mush" that is pretty much unrecognizeable. I never really questioned whether it was legal or not, but I figure why waste good fish guts??? _________________ Vegetarian (n)...Old indian word for bad hunter |

| Sounds like it would work, although be sure to put them down beach as ways as the current will move the stink to your left and to the shore(as you face the water). Might just attract a bunch of hardheads though. |

I'm usually 2-4 miles out when I'm chumming - It's usually around the rigs you can see from the beach. When I say beyond the breakers, it WAAAY beyond the breakers!!! _________________ Vegetarian (n)...Old indian word for bad hunter |
