Saw two guys fishing on the rookery island along the causeway on Friday evening. The island is cleary marked w/ signs cautioning people from approaching too closely. All the birds, mostly skimmers, were huddled in the far corner of the island. Skimmers need to sit undisturbed for several days before they will lay an egg. If they are continually disturbed, they will not lay an egg for that year. Please stay off the islands during the nesting season.
