What a difference a week makes, water quality-wise. When I put in at Bluff's at about noon Saturday, I thought to myself that it looks like I'm going to be fishing in brown tide. But considering that the water was pretty last weekend I chalked it up to high winds from the night before. Looks like I was wrong and BT is definitely in the area.
Anyhow, back to the report. Drifted for an hour or so mid-day in the Laguna Shores area and picked up six specs with two big enough for the box.
Went back out around six and the winds had picked up which made water clarity even worse. Pulled a drift through some shallower water (1.5-2 feet deep) and picked up a red that was a hair over 28. Ten minutes later I luck into another red at 27.5". Released both and went over toward the ICW for clearer water. Found it but didn't get any more hits before heading in.
All fish were caught on black/chartreuse cocahoes and white Gulp shad. |

Thanks for the report. There are definitely fish to be had in the lowsy water, but ya gotta really work for them. Way to fish hard. _________________ ...if my boss ever finds this forum I'll be unemployed... |
