Played hooky Thursday and fished just south of fish pass. There was a moderate north wind and corpus bay was rough. The flats had some decently clear water and the water temp seemed warmer than the air temp early on, but it's still not quite warm enough. I got 50 live shrimp from Clem's around 7am and was fishing at 8am. Managed 12 keeper trout(kept 10) by 2pm and was out of bait. My take along tackle box had slipped out my wade belt pouch, so when the shrimp were over I didn't have a single lure to throw, so I headed in. No great size on any of the fish, most being around 16 inchers with a couple of 18's and one 19. I wish the conditions would have co-operated a little; you could tell the fish are still a little sluggish. Still I'd give the day a 7 out of 10.
Saw some guys at the spot with one guy using shrimp with a nice black drum. The other guy was throwing plastics and had a couple of trout on his stringer. It was good to see people catching fish. _________________ I don't run 'cause it makes me tired. I don't lift weights 'cause they're heavy. -Charles Barkley |

thanks for sharing... I'd say any day fishing and not working plus, limiting out on trout would be a solid 10.... _________________ DONT MESS WITH TEXAS AND YOU WILL CATCH MORE FISH!!! |
