we had a very good offshore trip last year on may 5th for 20 fisherpeople
on the pelican out of port aransas. it's a 73' vessel and can normally handle 50-60 people. 20 is perfect. cost last year was 145.00 each. i have been asked by some from last year to organize another trip. so far about 10 fishers have committed to go just about anyday i choose. even landlocked bum is coming down again from little rock.
i'm an accountant and somewhat busy just now, so here it is:
Are you interested? any special day of the week? any questions?
if i do it, same rules as last year, first 20 paid in full get to go, others stay on the dock.
it is a 12 hour trip and i will accept payment by credit card.

I would be interested if we did some shrimp boat chasing for blackfin or ran out to the rocks for some possible wahoo. But honestly don't care to bottom drop fish for bee liners or shark. But that's just me.

You can count my father and I in again for 2 spots. A Thursday sounds great since I could turn it into an extended weekend with minimal vacation time. And good on the dates except June 14-20. Very Happy

I'm already in, but share the sentiments of Robul. I've had my fill of bee liners!!! I'd like a better than average shot at blackfins, LEGAL AJs, Mahi mahi, wahoo, etc.

Having said that, I'll gladly be there for whatever y'all choose to do! Cool

Is there any benefit to waiting a few weeks later than last season? Wink

24 hour trips out of Deepsea HQ's every Saturday depart at noon return Sunday at noon. $250, a little pricey but the boat max is 15 instead of 35 w/ 10 min to sail. Very nice for a 73' boat. 60-80 mile trip. Usually catch blackfin, AJ, cobia, snaps and groups.
Last weekend catch pic is posted on thier site.

Same as Robul for me. Perhaps a smaller group would be in order for such a trip?

need to talk to the mrs.. but what robul mention on doing some more chasing might be more fun.. the b-liners were not so bad since they were more like freight liners.. larger sizes..
but amber jacks, and black fin.. yum. yum.. going from 140 to 250.. not a bad deal, especially if doing 20.. \
I am down either way.. just need to make sure projects are in order..pin a date down and I can commit.. already sent the mrs on a weekend trip down in rivera.. so maybe i can be boys fishing trip... yeah right.. wishing again.

The Deepsea HQ Sat-Sun 24 hour trips end mid April. I guess they make more money and need a little rest during the peak fishing season running all three big boats.

Well I went out on the Gulf Eagle this past Saturday for my 1st chance at tuna/AJ's. No pics, but caught 10 blackfin, an AJ and a bigass Crevalle. Had a great crew. The boat total for 11 people was over 130 BF. The average tuna was 15#, the largest just under 20#.

Sorry for the semi jack CCBobber, was thinking you were doing something sooner and meant to throw out an option other than a 12 hour trip.
