With the normal list of suspects unable to fish this AM, I was off by myself arriving at the launch before 0600, with a hint of pink on the horizon. Wind was calm, though got to about 10 ENE by end of the nearly 6 mile paddle.
Paddled a short ways and saw a few tails and bait getting chased. Throwing a black & chartruese Skitterwalk Jr, quickly got on the board with a red arounf 23", and thought too soon---"this is gonna be easy". Worked that area for a while longer for a few half-hearted slaps by trout, and pushed on to the south, finally finding a single twin for the first one.
Spent the next 2 hours unsuccessfully hunting for the third red, and only managed 4 rats and a dink. All in all a nice day
Sure do like the fall weather!
