Started at Packery and the channel was red, with dead fish floating in, and dead fish in rocks

Talked with a man from TPWD and he said
it was worse yesterday, and he said the cloud cover and cooler temps were helping dispate the red tide (or something along those lines) he said it was from Brownsville all the way north of Port A, and worse the further south you get. He did say it was in the bays. He said the this heat & strong winds late in the year were not helping.

So pray for cold/cool cloudy & windy days

Further north

a big one

from there went to the back of the island and saw zero dead fish and the water looked good, lots of birds.......things looked normal

made my way back off the island and
there was some dead fish at packery park and I only saw one dead fish on the road to the JFK turnaround.

Guess I was following you.

In the channel,

Took a few minutes but after getting out of truck the coughing & watery eyes, sneezing started, and that was with a strong north wind.
Didnt know we had so many eels in the water , Lots of dead eels.

Heres Mustang, alittle less but still bad.

Swung thru Packery park on way back. Dead fish all in there almost to Billings bait stand ramp.

Saw lots more dead fish floating in water offshore, this norther did'nt do anything to slow it down.

Never experienced this before, but this is just devistating! Thinking......since it seems that there are more bait fish washing up than predators, does that mean that the predators are gonna be an easy target, or would/do they have internal instincts to avoid these areas Question I am itching to get out there n fish, but its looking Sad Exclamation

Good question. This is something that I haven't ever been through. How does this effect the fishing after the Red Tide has been blown out? Will the game fish return quickly, or is this something that will take time for the fisheries to return to normal? One more question. What are the rules about catching fish in an area that has Red Tide? Are they still eatable or do they need to be thrown back?
