| We have these ants around the yard that are about the size of fire ants maybe a bit smaller that are crazy fast. The seem to like wood and they have even climbed into my suburban at times. Anyone know what these are and how to get rid of them? |

| We've had them in Houston for several years now (5+). They are called (crazy) Raspberry ants. I didn't know that you guys had them down there now... I've heard they've made their way to San Antonio. They are very attracted to anything electrical and will ruin electronics. The colonies are very hard to get rid of - each colony having multiple queens. They will consume insects, birds, etc. |

A gal in my office had these things. She was told to use Terro PCO. Locally at Walgreens, she only found Terro. Used that stuff and got rid of them in a week.
Here is a link for the PCO stuff. Good luck.

I have been having problems with little tiny ants at my house. They seem to find a way in and get into everything. I kill them and then they pop up somewhere else. It sucks when you have to store your cereal in the fridge to keep it away from the little @#$%'s |

| I use permithrin 38%, u can get it at a feed store for about $15 a pint. One bottle last me over a year... two teaspoon per gallon of water and add about a 1/4 cup of baby oil so it last longer. I spray the house in and out once a month.. no more ants, roaches, crickets, spiders, or any other tiny creatures. I also spray it on the grass around the house a day before the grandkids come for a visit. Don't forget the attic.. I bomb the attic at least every other month. My neighbor had carpenter ants and we had to drill holes on the walls to spray a heavy concentration of permethrin..it did the job, good luck. |

I live in NW SA & we first noticed them about a year ago. They haven't damaged anything or figured out how to get in the house yet.

yes is toxic, to ants and other creatures to include humans if douse with it!!!... the best treatment for termites and fire ants mounts. u have know how to use it and be very careful...is also use in a very dilluted form in over 90% of fruit orchards in the country. Don't use it in areas where kids come in direct contact ect....it dissipate very fast. if in doubt, don't use it. just giving my opinion how to solve ants problems. |
