Went to my sheltered spot to stay out of the wind 2nd bait in the water and a fight is on pull it up to see the large gafftop. I am thinking alright gonna be a good day. Right after sunrise another large run I fight it for a while get it up to the rocks to see my largest redfish and right as I was netting him he spits the hook I almost jumped in after him he was so tired and just sitting there but then he took off. Then nothing no bites couldn't even lose cutbait no bait in the water nothing.
Finally pack it up and battle the wind back to the launch as I am following the rocks back in I see a bunch of bait and decide I have one more hour to burn. Sure enough on the outside of the rocks big bites and lots of runs. Inside the rocks all the bait I can catch go figure. The real problem was keeping the fish out of the rocks and trying to land them. Lots of large gafftop and large snapper I would get them up and they would fall off in the rocks. All in all a great day even though a small catch.

Why is it that cc bay seems like the least fished area in south Texas? Do get me wrong everyone always talk about fishing AROUND the bay but not inside?

The bay has produced tons of fish in the past decades. At times, outproducing the Laguna... not sure your point exactly. Rolling Eyes

I still say it's better than going to work Rolling Eyes . Good job! I hate when those big Reds jump off the hook (any fish for that matter). Better luck next time.
