My wife and I are coming down the 20th, thru 25th or so of September and I am going to be a pest trying to get information on where to concentrate our efforts while in the area.

We will either be staying at Mustang Island S.P., to be close to Packery Channel and BHP or over at Goose Island, part of it will depend on fuel prices at the time.

My guess is we will be at Mustang due to the more central location, and the jetties and surf there.

Any advice or hints will be deeply appreciated as to general locations, baits. times.

I am going to start figuring outvthe tide charts so that we won't be fishing during time of dead water, but I always figured that as long as you had a bait in the water something might decide it was hungry.

Ain't no one hitting either of these places???

What about the north Jetty at Port A? Is the jetty boat still operating?

I haven't been fishing either place, but Bob Hall pier has been on again, off again, for Kings and Spanish Macs, with a few trout and redfish also being caught, so I'd guess the same would be true for Caldwell. Yes, the Jetty Boat is still running.
