driving down tonight to fish the bayside of mustang island st. park. usually fish around deadman's hole. anybody had any luck in that area lately? if so, what were you using? will be wade fishing after paddeling to my honey hole.

I have not been back there recently but my buddies have been doing good with topwaters.

I talked to a guy yesterday who told me he has been doing well there. He is using gulps. He said the driving is passable.

i've been in there(road just north of fish pass) about four times in the last six weeks. get there as early as possible and fish inside sand bar as long as you can. a buddy stayed close to shore and headed north chasing reds. saw a 24" trout caught on topwater around 8:30am one morning. i'd switched to plastic by then. lots of bait in there. been lots of porpoises in there chasing bait but doesn't seem to affect fishing. good luck
