Where's a good area to go that's close by that would be a good area for flyfishing for red? Preferably drive to by vehicle, not boat. Thanks in advance.

Go to Wilson's Cut and take the road (trail) that heads NE from the launching ramp area. There a number of places where you can get in the water and wade those back lakes. A kayak helps alot, but you can wade it. Wilson's Cut access is on Hwy 361 several miles south of Port Aransas. It is directly across from the two big brown high rise condos.

no reason to. that was actually outstanding advice, as the entire length of the backside of the island is sand. great sight casting.
