Well, we baptized the yaks this weekend. The wife and I decided to practice some in the bays and we had a good ole time -- until I decided to be a wise guy and practice deep water re-entry. The falling out part was easy but when I tried to get back in, I flipped the entire rig over and cut one finger from the palm to the tip on an oyster bed Embarassed Not to be outdone, I did some personal first aid and decided to hit the surf for some fun. We hit PINNs and played in the surf. Man, I have alot of respect for those of you who go BTB or run out baits in those conditions!! Gonna take work to get good but we had a great time.

Went to dinner and I got revenge on the oysters -- 4 dozen raw -- made my butchered finger feel better Twisted Evil !! No fishing but good times with my girl.

If anyone wants to offer some tips for re-entry and surfing back in to the beach without wiping out, I would welcome any help I can get! See ya later.

Keep the front straight towards the beach & lean WAY back when you feel the wave lift you.
What kind of Yak is it? Hopefully not longer than 12ft, (shorter the better) those 14 or 16ft yaks no good for the surf. Idea

Depends on the length of the yak, your good up to 14'. For re-entry you need to learn to swim into the yak not pull yourself up. Your basically pushing the yak into the water and dragging yourself into the cockpit
