Got to the pier around 11am only to find that it was already pretty crowded.
I had no luck other than a medium Whiting or two, then people moved in around me, crossed my lines continuously, and never apologized. So, I moved to a different spot and then helped some small kids catch some pin perch. I did see one small Pompano caught, lots of Whiting, and one young man had a magic touch for pulling in really big Sheepheads. The green water was visible, but still pretty far from the end; water was pretty murky from the front blowing through, but no seaweed to speak of. |

| Thanks for the surf info. I would say all the rude people must be tourists but I know from experience some of the bad ones are locals. |

Ladyfish check out my report from BHP on Sunday. Also, don't feel bad, I had the same thing happening to me, I got quite upset a few times, but I just smiled and kept fishing. And it was pretty packed. Hope you have better luck next time you go out there.

So, I guess Jeff was the young man I saw pulling in all those sheepies. Congratulations, you have quite a knack there.
I realize that when things are crowded, lines will get crossed; I've miscast a few times myself and crossed other people's lines. But when I do, I always reel it in and apologize. This guy never said "I'm sorry"; in fact, he kept edging closer to where I was after I caught a Whiting. He had a jetty cart, so I doubt he was a newbie tourist. I finally packed it up and moved away, at which point he took my spot. It was too nice a day to let the guy ruin it, so I simply put a line in and then helped a family that had three little boys--- by baiting the kids hooks for them---so the mom & dad who had spent most of their time baiting the kids' hooks could finally get in a little fishing themselves. |
