| I heard where they are putting out for bid, the replacement of all of the guardrails on the pier. as well as at Horace Caldwell - to bring them up to state safety regulations. They say they will be built in 20ft sections to be replaced. Im just wondering if they are going to close the pier again? |

God I hope not We already lost some prime fishing time (for what six months?) due to Ike. And dont even get me started on the political side of who, what and WHY of that whole ordeal! I love Bob Hall Pier and Been to Horace Caldwell dozens of times when Bob Hall was closed! Hopefully they will repair in sections. A little here, a little there. Just don't close that prime piece of fishing realestate! _________________ I'm a Mawg: Half Man, Half Dog. I'm my own best friend! |

| I remember them replacing a few railings last early summer and power washing the cement blocks for at least a week in the summer. All that hammering and running compressors etc did nothing for the fishing, but I guess it would be better than closing it completely. I still don't understand the mentality of the powers that be, always doing work like this in the summer rather than the winter when nearly nobody fishes out there. |
