| When your fishing spoons do you cast from sand bars and retrieve or do you fish the length of the guts? |

The simple answer is both.
I stand on the sand bar and start by casting parallel to the bar on the back side of break and work a fan pattern until I come to the bar on the other side when I find a nice wide and deep gut.
If I find a nice pinch, I will wade out upcurrent from it, cast past it and work my spoons through the pinch. Same for a suck-out through the bars. You predator type fish will hang out on the down current side of these structure to ambush baitfish.
For topwaters or suspending lures in these structures, you will want to do near reverse. Stand down current, and cast you lure upcurrent of the pinch or suckout and let the current take it through the zone, giving just a slight twitch here and there so it replicates a baitfish caught in the current. Just reel in enough to keep the slack out of the line, so that you can set the hook when a strike happens. Too tight though and you'll pull your lure out of the natural current. _________________ GOBZA!!!
