I am from central Texas and I am headed to Corpus this weekend. Being as I do not own a boat, where are some good spots to hit that I can fish from the shore or some bays that I wade into with a moderate chance of success. If some of you locals or otherwise savy individuals dont mind sharing some of your spots I would appreciate it. God bless and gig'em!!

the area surrounding the JFK causeway is almost entirely overlooked by wade fishermen, and there are plenty of fish right there.

Go over onto the island and turn left at 361 (stripes gas station on left). Go past the church and the oil tanks on the left. There will be a little access road on the left side on the other side of the inlet. Take that road and turn off to the left when it splits. Follow the path around the shore to the area with the remains of a wooden duck blind. There is a hole that you can wade out to fish.

It's here. Should be ok by this weekend, though.

How much does the water temperature of the Gulf vary during the year? How warm will the water get and what is the "ideal" temperature for fishing? Freshwater fish are real sensitive to temp. SAme true for saltwater fish?
