My brothers and I go on an annual fishing trip to Galveston. We've decided to try out Corpus Christi this year but have no idea where to go. I would greatly appreciate any advice on locations and bait preferences. We plan to be out there by the 21st of July. We usually just camp out on the beach and fish all day. Please help.

Fish pass is a good one on the list, if the surf is calm i'd try bobhall or the surfs. Pick up dead shrimp, maybe fishbites for whiting or pompano, and try and net some baitfish for bigger rods. I noticed u fish galveston......Ever been to San luis pass pier near galveston? I have been dying to get over there as the fishing has been red hot. That is the best place i have ever fished on a boat or a pier. I have fished for 27 years at lots of different places and not even baffin with a guide is a hot as that place. When the timing is right it is a fisherman's dream. Especially when thousands and thousands of 20+ specks come in hungry!!!! I will be down in CC the wkend of the 21st also but this time a few others in the family r going so it will me more of a getaway. Hopefully the bottle of Nyquil will kick in for everyone early so i can sneak away and try my luck.

San Luis pass is a great spot. I'm thinking about trying out Bob Hall. Where's a good spot to camp on the beach?

You can camp anywhere along the beach as far as I know. Just don't camp real far south from the pier alot of wierdos hang out down there because its not patrolled by police as often.

Thanks for the tips so far guys. I greatly appreciate your advice. I still need to know good spots to wade out and fish. Does anyone know what the costs are at bob hall pier?

I think its 1 dollar a person plus 1 dollar per rod ( thats how most piers around here are)

Don't know if you've seen this yet but ,here's some good spots to wade http://corpusfishing.com/wadingspots.htm

A few miles south of Bob Hall Pier is the Padre Island National Seashore. If you have a 2WD vehicle you can travel about 5 miles along the shore. An annual pass costs $20 for the vehicle. Camp anywhere along there.

Go to Padre Island National Seashore (PINS). PINS has a good shower and bathroom facilities at the visitors center, and the water is nicer the furhter south you head (normally). Scroll through the old postings, there are all the tips and specifics you need to have a good time.
