We are thinking of moving to CC next summer. We already spend 6-8 weeks a year down there in our travel trailer, why not just make it full time.

Anyone have a realtor in the family. We won't be moving until May of 2011. Waiting for our daughter to get through 8th grade.

Any high schools better than others in CC?

Our target house is 4br 2+baths 2000sq ft+ 95k to 150k

Also anyone have a hookup with FBISD or CCISD? Wife and I are both teachers so will need employment before we can pull the trigger to up and move.

Will be down next week so would like to take a look at a few houses to see what we can get in our price range if we can find an agent.

Rick,

In the best interest of you and family, you really need to do some homework if you want to do some great things for your family. Your price per SqFt is out of line a bit, but I know you are hoping for the best case. On a scale of 10, CCISD is about a 2 maybe a 3. Tuloso is better, do your homework and find out what FBISD has to offer, but don't share the result!!! Google "bay area fellowship" as well Very Happy

You will only find a house in that price range for what you want in the small cities around Corpus. A close freind of mine just got a house and we ( i helped look) looked for 7 months and she just paid cash for a house to get a better deal. You may want to down size or look at a repo. All repos we saw were awful the houses were all gutted and trashed. The person she used was a woman in Flour Bluff Dixie Hobson with Windward properties--cell-361-765-1825. She was very good at her job she looked all over the area for us. She is very blunt and she will let you know if a house is a good buy are not. She is not lazy and helps her clients.

I did a basic search and there are quite a few homes in CC within our range. As far as being a new house we really don't care about that. We have rehabbed quite a few houses during the summers to pay for vacations. We even discussed buying one that needed work and just rehabbing it. Takes us about 3 weeks to completely rehab a house top to bottom.

The house next door to me just sold for $125K. Its a little smaller than what you want, 3BR-2BATH-1700 Sq ft and has a view of Oso Bay.

I think you can find something for under $150k.

My kids have done very well in CCISD.
