| Ok guys, I've finally decided that it's time to hire a charter out of the Corpus area since I haven't hooked up with any good fish in quite some time. Does anyone know any charters down there with good reputations that can get me on some fish? |

| Specks and Reds are what we are wanting to target. I know they're easy for a most of yall to get but I haven't had much luck since early August and would like to find some new spots to go to in the yak, maybe pick a captain's brain if possible while out on the water. |

If you care to fish off-shore or in the surf you can't go wrong with Captain Billy Sandifer. Call him at 361-937-8446. He is the man. _________________ Off Shore Port Mansfield |

| Ditto on Cpt. Mike. If you want fish you will get fish. If you want to learn he will teach. |

If you like to stay on the water all day, don't bother with Mike Singleterry.
But, if you prefer a very knowledgeable courteous captain, a person to put you on the fish early and often, and like getting off the water by mid to late morning, then he is your man.
Capt. Mike also has the heart of a teacher as well. Fish stories, tips come with the price of admission. _________________

If you wanna be in the kayak and not a boat. My vote is for Fil Spencer aka Fishman. You don't have to worry about picking his brain he will tell you before you ask. Put you on some fish and have some crazy action. Insane action! Google:Fishman Guide Service. _________________ Do not argue with an idiot. | I'd go with Captain Billy Sandifer and a surf charter. The fishing has been excellent and should just get better. |

BTW, Capt. Zapata has a good rep and is a really nice guy to boot. Worth a call to him if Mike is booked. Inshore, I'd stick with the inshore guys since it sounds like you want to stay in the waters you plan to fish. Nearshore/beach and Billy is the obvious choice. _________________ Jeff

| Thanks for the information so far guys, I have heard of Captain Mike before and was already thinking about possibly hooking up a trip with him. However, I'm open to hear more suggestions from other areas like port o conner, port a, aransas pass, but mainly Corpus since I visit it once at a minimum of once a month and love coastal fishing. I really need to pick someone's brain who knows the fish in that area because I have the right tackle/bait and presentations but just can't find the fish... |

Well where a guide takes you 1 day the fish may not be there the next time. Really if you want to go on a kayak give Phil Spencer aka - Fishman a call. Coming down once a month a have to have someone that is fishing regularly to "know" where the fish are.
My experience with Fishman was great. He taught me what to look for. I plan my kayak trip according to weather and tides and then look for the signs. Long story short I got 1st place red this weekend at the YakAttack tourney because I followed the signs. goodluck! _________________ Do not argue with an idiot.
