Well, sorry for the late report. It's hard to post with the computer in the shop. We hit the beach at 8:45am on Friday the 18th. Driving was fairly tough. We were able to drive by the water in some areas but not in others. Sand was fairly soft but there were large dips that if you hit to fast would send everything in the back up in the air. We wanted to get our spot so we didn't fish on the way down. Took three hours to get to the mansfield jetty. Six of us went on this trip. Four trucks and 5 tents. We were expecting the fishing to be good and it was. We caught a large variety of fish in the channel right in front of our camp. We caught reds, pompano, whiting, mangrove snapper, specs, skipjacks, a buterfly ray and way to many stingrays. We fished in the surf a few times but we only caught small whiting. The surf was TO CALM. It was flat with no waves. You need some waves to mix it up so fish go on attack. We caught reds the entire time with the bigger ones 26" to 30" started biting on Sunday night. The girls cleaned all the fish except for about 3. I taught Dorinda how to filet about 4 years ago now she is the best. She taught Rosemary how to filet and they got after it. Rosemary learned to throw a cast net and started bringing in the bait to. Taylor and I paddeled out to the end of the jetties and caught a ton of giant skipjacks. Could have been some smacks because I got cut off 4 times. Didn't take any steel leader with me. We ate fish Sunday night till no one could hold anymore. Yes, fresh as it gets. On monday morn we loaded up and was about to head out. I turned the key and nothing happened. Blood pressure going up fast. I turned it a second time and got a urr-urr. What the f--k?? I put a new battery in three weeks ago just because the one I had was 3 years old. Turned it over a third time and err-err-vavom it started. Heard a funny whinning noise but I wasn't about to turn it off to see what it was. We headed out I told Dorinda under no circumstances should I turn the key off. Jimmy was following us out. We stoped 4 times and surffished and let it stay running. Got to the pavement where the trash cans are and turned it off without thinking. And nope,it wasn't going to start again. A lady on a bycycle told me that there is a very good automotive shop right down the road about 8 miles. It's called Island tire and automotive. Well, we hook up the tow strap and Jimmy tows me to the shop. It's right behind Johnny D's restarant by the montery motel. They took it right in checked it and told me what I already knew. Your starter is fried. Then, get this they tell me they can have one there in 45 minutes and put it on in an hour. I say go for it. In 2 hours my truck is finished and ready to continue the drive. Try that in AUSTIN.
I have a photobucket slide show for the pics.
Island tire and automotive 361-949-4949. Keep that handy.

Fishaddict,
Have you got it made, or what?
You have a lady that, catches bait, catches fish, cleans fish, and fries fish! What more could a guy ask for? You caught a keeper.
B.T.W. Nice slide show. Thanks for sharing. What was churning up the water under the birds?
