I love the Bluff. This is where I was raised, left for ten years but ultimately came back here to raise my kids. Wouldnt have it any other way! _________________ Fish or cut bait....You make the choice! |

I know what yall Bluffians are saying bout a brotherhood type thing. I feel that way with Aransas Pass. I survived AP highschool with no gunshot wounds and no kids thank God.
Know every short cut around town, we were stoked when a friend got a job at Gulf Marine fabricators and were able to get in for free to use their pier. There was a bar by the harbor that let us drink when we were 17 years old, no one seemed to mind. Shrimporee was a better holiday than thanksgiving and Christmas put together.
Taking days off middle school to go Shrimping on opening day, ultimatly came back with more money than the teachers made in a week. The boat parties we would have and still have at one of the old abandoned oil rigs outside of Redfish bay. I think more than a few kids swiped their V-card on that thing. We threw some big parties at the flats where the cop cars couldnt go and itd be on a wednesday.
There was just so much we got to share just living and growing up around the coastal bend, no retiree or weekender can really come down and get the full experience like we did. I thank God everyday for that. And like I told every kid that left here when school graduated, theyd be back.
Nuthin like drowning a shrimp or lure right after work. Heres to many more. Ohh hell I kept typing. |
