Well I lived in Bluff for about 15 years when I first moved here and now live in town. Here's a few jokes and thought on "God's Country"!
How does a girl from FB get ready for a date? Brushes her tooth.
Land of the free. Home to the homeless.
What do you call a dentist in FB? Unemployed.
If you live in Flour Bluff, TX, you might be a redneck.
If you can't get it in Flour Bluff, you don't need it.
Flour Bluff a small drinking community with a fishing problem.
All kidding aside, FB is still a great place as long as you stay on the right side of the tracks. And now for a bit of history. SM
Flour Bluff, at the tip of Corpus Christi Bay, received its name from an incident in the pastry war between France and Mexico.
The pastry war began in 1838 because Mexico had refused to pay some debts to the French People who were living in Mexico. One of the men asking for repayment was a French baker whose bakery shop had been robbed by Mexican soldiers during a celebration of some kind. The French government wanted Mexico to pay the expenses for the robbery.
The Mexican government refused to pay the French so the French sent a fleet of ships off the coast of Veracruz, Mexico and declared a blockade of all Mexican ports from the Yucatan to the Rio Grande. Therefore, trade between Mexico and the rest of the world was stopped. Merchandise to be sent to Mexico was dropped at the port and then transported to the Rio Grande.
During the war, Texas became afraid that France would try to close the Texas ports due to the smuggling. A Texas militia was sent to Corpus Christi Bay to put a stop to all smuggling into Mexico. At this time, the Mexicans made an unexpected visit to the Bay of Corpus Christi and dropped about a hundred barrels of flour upon the beach. Thus, the name "Flour Bluff" came into existence. _________________ That's why they call it fishin' not catchin' |

| Nike white shrimp boots to me as tourist is an oxymoron. But I am a tourist. Flour Bluff to me is the cheapest place to buy gas and ice in the USA. The Academy on SPID has the things I need, like no other, to surf fish anywhere. Discount tires on SPID has the tires to get you through the sand. All in all, I think Flour Bluff has what it takes to get you down the Island and to get you from day to day. Joke if you will, the schools seems to be fine. I'll let you know when my friend on the peninsula sells his house if he makes a profit, but it looks good. Flour Bluff is the place between Dallas and the Island. If I ever come back. L |

Wallhanger - Apparently hit a nerve with some of these guys. That stuff made me laugh out loud though. I thought it was hilarious.

I'm only a tourist so what do I know-
There are some special folks that live in da Bluff.
Take for instance the mayor- Capt. Sandifer.
I have my eye on a lot there so maybe someday I'll have a hideout over there. |
