I didn't get to fish very long, had dinner plans with my wife and some friends. But, I ran out after church to see what I could do. Netted up some good mullet (4-7 inches) and headed to the end. WAY too many set rods unattended, so freelining a live bait wasn't going to happen. All the conditions seemed just perfect for king fishing... Incoming tidal flow, onshore breeze, water clarity was incredible with some greenish tint to it. Couldn't ask for better king fishing water/weather in my opinion. So i freelined my mullet for almost 2 hours with no looks. Is it getting to be a little too late for king fishing? or just didn't happen today...
I saw a couple leaving with one upper slot redfish that was caught before I arrived. That one red was the only fish I saw in my few hours out there yesterday afternoon. |

I highly doubt its getting too late for king fish. In fact it should start getting really good on the jetty. I usually catch them when I can actually see them busting bait. If no bait is being chased i usually wont catch. I caught my biggest king off the jetty in November. Thanks for the report _________________ -Mando |

What Mando says. I was out there last year in October and saw about a 15 to 20lb king jump 13 feet in the air busting up mullet. |
