| Out of curiousity since I am not a hunter, are any of those edible?? Are they hunted just for the trophy fact, and for mounts/hides (got be $$$$$$$$$$) or is there any meat that is actually edible involved? |

Thanks IMS,
The travel and people there are great, we even took a tour about an hour outside of Johannesburg and our driver was born and raised there and was very personable and helpful.
Went shopping one day in Elisras( decent sized town 1 hour from camp) and everyone was polite and helpful.
What we saw was the black populations dislike of illegal immigrants from Zimbabwe.
There are some problems but not much different from not going to some places in Houston or even CC after dark.
Not all animals appeal to everyone I just wanted to have a zebra rug,,,,, also my wife voted against a giraffe
DBE1982,
Most are edible and some are fantastic, we ate wildebeast, eland and Kudu while we were in camp and it was good.
I would have liked to be able to bring some of the meat back but unfortunately you cannot.
The safari, and transporting all trophys home does cost some but the Taxidermy, when they get here is going to be painful ! |
