4 nimrods were lucky enough to celebrate the 4th with their lives. While waiting for the fireworks at the peoples stret t haed my wife says look at that boat and to my amazment i see a 15' walk thru windshield boat with 3 nimrods all my size 200+ or - sitting on the bow while another navigated the vessel. Even in the best of conditions which they werent with 2 or 3 inches of free board they were destined to get wet. Sure enough right in front of where we were sitting a wave rolled over the bow and the driver throttled the motor only to make things worse. Down it went and belly up as all four went swimming. Fortunatley there were several boats quick to respond and help get them out of the water. Thankfully my kids didnt have to watch those goof balls die on the fourth of July. No life jackets were being worn nor did any pop out of the over turned boat. Non of them appeared to be able to swim and were yelling for help. I doubt that any of them would have passed a sobriety test. HOLIDAYS ALWAYS BRING OUT FOLKS THAT HAVE NO BUSINESS RUNNING A BOAT. jUST WANTED TO SHARE THE STORY

Just came back from a week in Port A . Talk about Chaos. Betwen 4th of July on one weekend and then Deep Sea Roundup the next. I was actually ready to get out for a while.
The thing that really got me the worst was the amount of anal people on the water this past weekeend. Took the wife over to St Joes Friday to try and get away from the crowds. We managed to do that but the worst of it was Boats pulling up to the Jetty right where people were fishing. This happened pretty much all day long and several times a few words were tossed back and forth. I see this wading and Kayaking in the bays all the time where somebody pulls up right in the middle of us but had never seen it that bad at the Jetty.
By the way water looked great over there Friday . Hopefully the surf will clean up by next weekend and the crowds of inconsiderate people will be someplace else.

Steve

Yesterday I saw some guys headed up the ICW full speed in a center console with one guy sitting at the front of the bow with his legs dangling over the front while holding a beer.

He didn't look nearly as cool as the probably thought he did...

Weekends, I guess...

I have probably posted this story before, but it is just so funny and so freaking perfect.

When I was 11 or 12, I was fishing the ICW down around 5 miles or so south of the JFK. We were dirfting the edge of the ICW, casting into the the ICW and bouncing up the side to the shallows around a little bend in the ICW.

Here comes Idiot and his friend Dufus. Idiot was driving a bay boat with a big outboard motor. Dufus was aparrently standing on the bow to help it mantain plain or something. Idiot is navigating right towards us at full throttle, and decides he will cut the corner. Idiots engine first throughs a line of mud in the air for about 100 feet or so then the loudest snap I have ever heard as his transom broke, leaving his nice outboard sitting upright in the mud and his boat continuing to kind of skip. Lucky for his friend Dufus, he had mad a little curve as he first hit the mud, which threw him out to the side of the boat instead of under it. I am sure it still had to hurt, considering he landed in about 12 to 18 inches of water.

I figured their names had to be Idiot and Dufus, because as they were coming towards us my Grandpa said, "Hey get a load of this Idiot running full out towards us and his Dufus firend standing on the bow."

He was right. Laughing
