I haven't been down Pins in over 40 years. Last time I was about 11 yrs. old. Have lived in the Ap./Ingleside area all my life. Would it be worth the expense going to big shell or little shell from Ingleside? I have a 74 jeep cj 5 and would be pulling a small utility trailer for the food, drinks, and shade.
I keep reading about the reports from down that way and seeing pictures of deer, coyotes, etc. Probably would not stay overnight because of the wife. Would like some opinions from the seasoned crowd. |

It would absolutely be worht the trip.
Once you come over the ferry, pull our at Port A and take a look at the water color. Do the same at either JP Luby or Balli Park. The check out the color of the water when you hit PINS at he visitor center. Most days the difference is just freaking amazing, almost like being warped 1000 miles south to Cancun or something.
However, with te weed in the water, you'll have to hunt for a clear patch to fish, but that would be the case this time of year anywhere on Padre. _________________ GOBZA!!!
