Coming down for a family 4 day in a couple of weeks. I usually bring the kayaks, but they are a royal pain to haul up the stairs of Gulf Shores.
Since the boy, and I will probably only fish for a day, (other than the morning surf bite) I was thinking of renting a boat for the day. Anyone know of a place to rent a boat for less than an arm, and leg?
Also may do a day offshore with all of us,(4). Anyone recommend a good guide if we decide to go this way?

Thanks,
Jeff

I think there's a spot along the causeway between Aransas Pass and Port Aransas Pass called Mike's boat rentals. They have boats and kayaks too.

For the offshore trip - Capt. Ross hands down. He's "ReelBeast" on here.

I just noticed that Ronnie's Marine on SPID (next to Roy's Bait & Tackle) has 3 Carolina Skiffs for rent. You can call them and check on the details.

Ya beat me to it. I haven't checked out the pricing, but I saw the signs this weekend. Those Carolina Skiff's are no frills, tough, fairly shallow running boats. And they have Yami 4-strokes on them for good reliabilty and fuel mileage. Give 'em a call.

I use Cove Harbor Marina in Rockport. http://www.coveharbormarina.com/

They have really nice Coast Line boats and they are pretty reasonable for a 1/2 day. I usually get it for 24 hrs and get and evening and a morning trip in. Lots better than a skiff and a 15 hp stern drive.
