So, here it is, payday, and there's a little extra change in my pocket. Finally enough to buy the surf rod. Go by Academy, and all they have is Uglies. I ask the manager if any other stores might carry the ARs or Tsunami's locally, and he said no. They are scaling back the fishing departments because not enough shoppers.
Fine, I'll go check out bass pro. All they have is Uglies and OM's - the glass ones. Nope. Fine, I'll just go home and bite the bullet, I'll order an HDX and find where to pull the $ from later.
On the way home three, count them, three lights come on the dash, the temp guage starts climbing really fast, and the Durango is running like she was towing a house behind her. Limping her home, I think to myself. I am freaking cursed. Everytime I have had the $ to buy a rod from Nick, something has come up like this that requires all the spare $ I have and then some - everytime -for the last freaking decade!
I have no idea what is wrong with the truck yet, but I am sure it will be expensive, given that 3 freaking lights came on, and the way it was driving. I am guessing the tranny overheated, since the the tranny light was on and the way it was driving very bogged down. Will find out what the heck it is once it cools off a little. Way to hot to mess with right now.

Sorry about your truck. I don't know if you remember my little brother, but he is the mechanic from hell. I'm sure that if you have major damage, he can beat anyone's price to fix it. If you can get it down here, give him a call.

That's sucks man but as they say, that's life!
Don't forget about the simple solutions either. My truck did the exact same thing the other day, all the warning lights came on and it progressively got worse and worse on power. It was the alternator!!!! $55 and 4 new diodes later and I'm stylin' and profilin'!!! _________________ Dave

Sorry your having bad luck. There is a lyric from one of my favorite rock groups anytime bad stuff is coming my way."Good times bad times you know Iv'e had my share"Led Zepplin! Buy the way my trucks engine light came on the other day and it started bogging down, had it flat bedded to local dealer bad fuel injecter. Don't worry the good times are headed your way. Glad you told us I was headed to bass pro to get my new surf rod too. Been saving my money for one. Keep your chin up . _________________ When the going gets tough, the tough go fishing... |

I know from life that if something bad doesn't happen about every 3 months.....then something bad is gonna happen. Even if its a clogged toilet or something. Hmmmm, whats that, looks like a little lite way down there at the end of the tunnel. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED.

So, very strange thing happened last night. Went outside last night after everything cooled off, and only 1 light, for the emissions control system came on. Ran fine and drove fine. This morning, the emissions light was still on. Code check says either a poorly fitting gas cap or crack in the fuel line between the pump and the engine somewhere. Strange, no gas smell. In fact it ran really smooth on the way to work, with that stupid light glaring back at me. On the way home, the little light went off. Didn't reset it or anything, it just went off.
In the end, she ran a little warm this afternoon, not a lot, around the 3/4 mark versus the normal 1/2 mark, but that was it. With the heat on up here in SA for the summer, you expect that. But never expected it just to all the sudden be just fine. Very, very strange. But I am happy none the less!
And thank you to the gentleman who told me I can keep my reel! You know who you are, thanks! |
