What has parking at bird island got to do with parking at the windsurfing area? They are two separate places and the parking lot in question is not for the windsurfers. Confused

When you run out of room to park there you also have to park at Malaquite Visitor's Center.

Shocked Wow....this is something else. What's next for good ole PINS??? I wouldn't go out there for all the tea in China. There is plenty more beach to fish rather than to deal with these morons. Don't get me wrong, I love that stretch of beach and used to frequent it often....but now....now its just not worth it, however, I understand for some of you it is. I hope all this gets worked out and kudos to everyone for fighting the good fight, God Bless ya. As for me - I'll stay the H*ll away from that moron (PINS management) infested place. Good luck to you all.

In addition to what was said above, what a waste of money when I'm sure we are at a time when park funds are tight.

With much trepidation I put in at Bird on Friday am since I was running to almost the land cut. While there I just couldn't believe how absolutely ugly and wasteful the new pole fence looks.

Now what really got me going is the place was pretty busy that morning so a guy who isn't a Bird veteran tried to use the ramp right next to the cleaning station...before I could holler at him he dumped off into the big hole (see below) that has been there for some time. His wife got out to see what was the problem (his hitch was grounded and he was stuck) and fell when she walked down to area. Luckily he could maneuver just enough to get the boat off and exit on the side of the hole. Otherwise I had visions of Sanford making another score

I am outraged that PINS can spend the money and time basically fencing us out of otherwise usable parking yet can't fix truly dangerous conditions at the ramp. This so called "solution" is stubborn overkill and does not give any consideration to actually solving the real problem.

I work for the government, I know how lethargic and complacent it gets. No way should they nationalize health care. It would suck all of the incentive from doctors if the government regulated their lives. Free enterprise wins always.

Now that they are putting those post into the road shoulders, I wonder if they thought how they are going to mow those shoulders(with a hand mower)?? They'll probably just let the grass grow over onto the roads and be in disrepair, like the shell portion of the boat ramp.

It almost seems that they have a "think tank" that sits around trying to figure out "No matter the cost or the difficulty, how can we make the situation more intimidating for fishermen, surfboarders and all other visitors?"

That is so ridiculous!!! I cant believe that they will sure take your money for the bird island tags but will not accomodate for the all of us who love to fish and admire being in the outdoors. If it would have been me who had to walk 4 miles to get back to the boat ramp I would have thrown that pass and say he can keep the @#$%^ thing! So I guess now I will have to leave around 3:00am from Seguin just to ensure I have a parking spot since I launch from Bird Island more than anywhere else.

I am fine tuning the research but putting non-breakaway posts that close to the traveled portion of a roadway is from a common sense standpoint unsafe and probably violates State law...they are not only out of control over there but just plain not smart.

Just like I thought...they are out of compliance with the Federal Traffic Administration's Uniform Manual for Traffic Control Devices. I don't want to tip them how but if they would have used an engineer and conducted a study (like they are supposed to) they would know. OK I will give them a hint....there are rules about putting things too close to the road. Since they are so dense let me enlightened them as to why there are rules...it really isn't safe to put obstructions too close to where things are moving!

What are they thinking? OK you get burned on public sentiment on the towing issue. Instead of working with the public and finding a reasonable solution, like tyrants they basically flipped off the public and said there take that, I put ugly poles right where you thought you could park. Like any tyrant making knee jerk decisions they made major mistakes that simple common sense (much less knowledge of federal rules) should have told them they are wrong. PLEASE support CAC and get these bums out of there.
