While fishing at BHP last week with the family we were catching a bunch of little sharks. A Mom and here severely MR boy asked us what we were catching. We told them sharks and my step mom asked him if he wanted to try. My guess is this kid had never been fishing in his life. The boy might have been around 16-20 years old, hard to tell.
We got him set up with a pole and baited it with shrimp. After about 5-10 minutes wham his pole bent over. He started reeling like crazy and pulled up a 22" bonnett head. He kept yelling to his mom that he had caught a shark. Mom got some pictures of him and his shark and was just full of tears of joy for her son. She couldn't thank us enough for giving her son that experience.

Sometimes it's not about what you catch but for this kid is was all about what he caught.

that act of kindness deserves a "well done" from this grandpa. my oldest granddaughter(6) gets in tonite for 3 weeks of spoiling, then we get to take her back home. note to her father, what goes around comes around.
happy fathers day to all.

I always think of Christmas time when a kid catches a fish-it's like getting a present. God bless you for your kindness in sharing.

Wish I could take the credit for it but it was my stepmom's idea and my daughter helped alot. My wife is a special ed teacher and my daughter has helped in her classrooms since she was 5 so she is very comfortable around those kids. She didn't think anything about helping him and was clapping for him and giving him a high five.

That is the best fishing story I have read in a long time. May God bless you with many more fish for the act of love you showed that young man.

That's what Im talking about. I always love to pass along the experience to those who have never. It is the greatest feeling to pass on the feeling of a nice fish on the other end of your rod. I have introduced many of friends and their kids to the sport and Its great to know now that they are doing it all on their own now.
