Spent Labor day fishing with my girlfriends parents in Matagorda. The day started off slow but then we went to their "honey hole" and it picked up real fast. Once our bait started to hit the water the fish were jumping on them. All fish shown were caught on live shrimp. Ended up with 2 croaker, 4 sand trout, 1 spec trout (18"), and a drum (17 1/2"). Along with many other small fish. Before we headed out I saw one more piece of shrimp on floor of the boat so I decided to cast it out to get rid of it. Well I ended up with a 19.999999999999" red but I released it because the game wardens were out and there was no need to keep it as we already had fish in the ice chest. HEY MAN I MISSED YOU SAT. A.M. AT BIRD ISLAND NOW I KNOW WHERE YOU WERE AT. SOME NICE FISH YOU AND YOUR GIRL'S PARENTS CAUGHT. WE HAD A PRETTY GOOD DAY WADE'N. I SHOWED UP AROUND 6:15 A.M. GOT MY GEAR ALL SET OUT AND WAS FISHING AROUND 6:45 A.M. HAD A LIMIT OF RED'S AND 8 TROUT SIZING FROM 18-24" AND THE RED'S WERE BETWEEN 21-27" ALL IN ALL IT WAS A DAM FUN DAY ON THE WATER.
