Quote:
Stingrays have flat bodies and tails with serrated spines, which contain venom and can cause cuts and puncture wounds. The creatures are not aggressive and injury usually occurs when a swimmer or diver accidentally steps on one.

Quote:
Queensland ambulance service spokesman Bob Hamil confirmed that a diver had been killed by a stingray off Lowe Isles Reef and said cause of death appeared to be a "stingray strike to the chest."

Thats a shame. Wonder what he was doing to get hit in the chest Question

I'm gonna miss him. Feel sorry for his wife and little kiddos. Thanks for all the memories, Steve. Crikey!

Sad What a way to begin the week. I had been watching him since 92 when he first came on. I feel for his wife and kids. What a bummer . . . Crying or Very sad

in an article i read this morning, his producer said that he was hovering over the top of the stingray and it felt threatened and hit him in the chest, puncturing his heart.

and that it went DIRECTLY into his heart....man, when it's your time....

He was doing something he loved, but I must say, after pulling up a 30" wide ray this weekend, I will be more aware of that spine...

Bless his family...

He always got so close to what ever dangerous animal he was around. Dont see why the ray would feel provoked or threatend if he was swimming over it. Wierd dtory. Wonder if video will be shown?

Just got back from spending all weekend at PINS from the 14 to the 30's.

The brother did a lot to teach about the world around us. He did what he enjoyed. Hope it wasn't ended because the media "forgot the risks" you were taking.

Sometimes the media doesn't think what they are doing. Hope you don't lie in eternal rest because the media "only thought about how much revenue could be generated" from you.

"Aye mate now there is one thar with some wicked teeth. Oh and do they bite hard and run off quick.". I am talking about the media. Sometimes the media doesn't think what they are doing.

CCU knows what they did to my family years ago was major violation of the "Bill Of Rights", unfortunately there are no constitutional lawyers in San Antonio. The FCC could not beleive what CCU did. SAPD knows about it...what they did was break into my families "locked car" snuck a listening device inside as a joke then had their DJ's heckle the tar out of me everytime I went to my car since I was listening to their radio station. CCU that was stupid. Thank you SAPD for stopping that before they do that again to another family.
