Thanks for the report.
I don't know about anyone else, but I plan on releasing any small sharks I catch. Plus, I'm not interested in catching small sharks; I can do that in the surf or off Bob Hall pier. If others feel the same about small sharks, perhaps we can let the captain know and skip the shark holes and head straight to the blue water. [Or maybe the capt. did that because the seas were so rough that day.]
What were the bait choices available? You mention squid and live perch...was there anything else? |

| Because you guys have chartered the boat I am sure you can ask to skip the sharks. Two years ago we did that very thing and went right to the real keeper fish. If I was going tomorrow that would be my vote. Of course Red Snapper were in season for that trip as well. As far as bait, I don't know the names of the fish but we had several choices to pick from. They never pulled out any ribbon fish but that was the only thing that surprised me as far as bait goes. The last time I looked you guys had a great forecast so the seas should be much more maneuverable. At one point we had to pull anchor and move because we kept dragging it loose. |

A couple pics that I took or had taken. This was my first offshore trip and I really enjoyed it. The weather cooperated for a change. There were a lot more pictures taken by other people hopefully they will post theirs. The captain and crew did a very good job.
Waiting for every one to get there.
On the boat waiting to leave
My stringer of vermillion snapper weighed 31 lbs
My Amberjack weighed 19 lbs
Picture of all the fish caught
Myself, robert, gene, nita and sharon paid to get our fish cleaned while we went over to Fins for dinner. Talk about lazy fisherpersons. _________________ Fishing and Kayaking its a rough life but somebody has to do it. |

| Looks like a great day to me. I am assuming from the pictures that you guys were able to bypass the little shark hole and head straight for some better fish. Congratulations! |

LOL That guy in the second pic with the LSU cap looks a little like Walter Matthau. _________________ Give a Man a Fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a Man to Fish and he will sit in a boat And drink Beer all day. Fish 24:7 |

I'm sure all of us will agree that we had a blast. The shark hole was fished on the way back for maybe ten minuets and not one bite. Course if no bites why stay. I will say my arms are wore-out. Had to take a few breaks otherwise I might of had a few more fish. Any way that's my story and I'm stickin' to it. D. |

Cripes, I had to take a couple of 20 seconds breathers while fighting that Hammerhead, and I don't have whimpy arms!!!
I stopped at the do it yourself cleaning station and gutted and gilled all of my catch last night. By the time I was done I looked like Hannibal Lecter after a night on the town!!!!! I wnted to stop and get a brew but the way I looked I was afraid that the checker would faint, call the cops or pull a gun on me...................................................................
All fish are now vacuum sealed on on ice for the trip back. Once again y'all I had a GREAT time with a great group of folks!!! _________________ Dave
