Headed out early in the morning caught some mullet and bought some dead shrimp. Parked myself at the end of the jetty. First mullet in the water before I could get my other pole ready 29" Red Hit. Then nothing until about 1 got a 20"Drum and a 22" Red. About 4:30 School of Reds ran through and me and another guy couldn't get them off the lines before another pole was bending over. Ended with 4 Reds ( gave a 22" one away) and 1 Drum. All day long people were catching sheepshead on south jetty. Looked like they were freelining live shrimp along the rocks. Saw 4-5 people limit out and one guy looked like he was just handing them out to anyone around.
Water looked great and I was kicking myself for not bringing my kayak. Sure was glad I didn't around noon when the wind kicked up.
Also a big thanks to everyone about the parking permit the Cops were out checking everyone parked at the Jetty. _________________ Tis but a flesh wound. |

great fish and nice pics. A tag tied to the tail is also a good display. Keep up the good work. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

Me too!
The last time I was down the water in Laguna Madre was beautiful and clear, the fishing was tailing off according to Capt Mike. I fished the KRS, Pure oil channel area and Packery flats and I still managed to put a few in the boat for a day or two but then the brown tide set in and the fishing hit the wall. I dunked live pinfish around Packery jetties and out in the channel during good running tides with nice green water and caught narry a thing except for Ladyfish and one 6" bluefish................................... _________________ Dave
