Looking forward to hearing about your meeting today. For those of you a little slow (like myself) Sikes wrote an article in todays C-T about the new speed limit. _________________

Thanks Porky, I read the article. Look forward to know how the meeting went. I know you have to fight battles to win wars.
I can't help but to think about the overzealous offices patrolling. Julie and I want to camp on the beach 15 or so miles down this weekend. I hope we're left alone. I've read about the hassle some are having. |

| i think the turtle flag would be a great idea. they are monitoring the turtles so close, they know when there is activity. |

Meeting with the Park Superintendent 040909
by Nickaway on Thu Apr 09, 2009 11:30 am
Charlie Golla and I had the meeting with the Park service. The meeting went well in that we were able to get over the concerns we have re the relationship between the parks the users and rule changes. I went over the questions you had all sent me and basically this should answer where we are and the answers.
Johnny and Torpedo had questions concern the way the rule change was applied. They informed us that “They were allowed to change the rule as it does not pertain to roads. They would require an EIS if they were considering closing the park.”
I had some people send me the question how the park perceives our relationship as to the monitoring of the park and wildlife.
“They do consider us stewards of the park and realize the value of the users.”
We asked why the imposed the speed limit.
They imposed the reduced speed limit so they could show due diligence in prevention of a turtle getting run over and other safety speculations.
This whole thing is based on the speculation that the reduction of the speed limit will give them a get out if the Serra Club or other party tries to sue over lack of Due Diligence in a turtle squashing incident.
We did make some head way in that we put forward the idea, "on the days Turtles are coming ashore a Turtle Flag is raised at the entrance of the park and the 15 speed limit will be enforced during this active period". This we believe shows due diligence and would enhance the current damaged relationship between the parks and users.
The Park is having a management meeting next week to discuss this idea.
They are very much aware of the unrest amongst the users and we will decide on our options after the meeting next week. I will keep you all posted.
Thanks all for your questions and thanks Charlie.
Regards Nickaway.
PS: Check out the Caller Times, David did a great article in it today. |

sounds like a good compromise.. however, would need to have flags up on the beach aswell for thoose the camp over and then the turtles start to come on shore. _________________ Fish and Hunt Baby.... so tight lines and clear scopes. |

Sounds like a lot of BBBBBBBBB-SSSSSSSS bureaucratic double talk and back peddling to me. Bottom line is they are running from the libtards just like I figured.
When are they going to get some huevos?? Never if we don't push them. Keep the pressure on them and refuse to accept a compromise. Once you start accepting their compromises you have lost. You have to meet them head on with the same ferocity the libtards exhibit. Forget about being Mr. Nice Guy, it will get you run over in dealing with a libtard. |
