Got back to San Diego last night after 8 days camping, fishing, on the Pacific Coast of Baja 450 miles south of Tijuana. What a trip. Plenty of fish to eat, etc. I didn't get any monsters but my pal Dan Close did. Check out this California Halibut, really a flounder. He caught it from shore on a Krocodile Spoon. It weighed 18lbs.
Here is one of son Bryan and I fishing for Kelp Bass on a pelican pooh covered cliff.
One of a spot we called "Danger Island" check out the osprey nest at the top of that big rock.
Here is one of son Bryan fishing at Punta Cono. He got 5 small halibut by the time I got over there.
I have lots more photos but no way to get them off my camera.

Looks like the Halibut fishing is sweet, how much fun would it be to gig a 25 pounder! LOL! Beautiful pics, can't wait to see more. _________________ Later,

Counting the days!
I have been planing a trip to Baja for over 4 weeks now trying to learn as much as I can at www.mexfish.com . So far the best reports for a "fishing vacation" seem to be http://www.eastcaperesorts.com./ and for right now appears where I am going . I am not going to play tourist, I am going to fish. Do not want to go from SA to Baja and not catch fish! So if anyone has any suggestions please post them since I have never been to Baja.
Great pics...make me count the days until I hit the Sea of Cortez!
Planning 5 days in late September or early October. _________________ Become a part of the food chain, wade fish.

If you want to do it from a kayak talk to Jim Sammons at http://www.kayak4fish.com/ I was asking him about his East Cape Trips this week in Salt Lake City.

Sorry for the late reply Tyler, I've been busy at work.
Thanks for the info, I am planning staying at Punta Colorada. As for "yaking" I hadn't planned on that. The site you mentioned did give me ideas for gear, etc. Planning 2 days of blue water and wadefishing the rest of the time. Heard the hotel has reefs in wadefishing distance that produce some good sized fish. (roosters to about 70lbs, AJ's to 60lbs, unlimited huachinango, etc.)
I usually spend 7 days camped at PINS in October so this will be a change this year. I work to wadefish!
Thanks again. _________________ Become a part of the food chain, wade fish.

The water there even at that spot with the big rock and osprey nest was about 63 to 65 degrees. Boy would that be nice right about now!
