Ok, so what happens 5 years from now if we get an advisory that mercury levels in fish are too high for consumption?
What is our recourse? I'm all for the tax revenue, but do we have a safety net? |

| By the time my grand kids get to fishing on thier own theres gonna be nowhere left to fish that isn't polluted & thats a fact.Thats what matters to me.Refineries are gross, sky rocketing cancer rates that we pretend are'nt from the unnatural crap in our air , water & food is denial & wanting more for the sake of some $$ is typical people to scared & selfish to sacrafice a little now for the sake of the people we are leaving our fishing holes to. |

| I guess if we want to be completley free from the woes of our energy dependence and related issues, we could start by turning off the computers while we complain about the energy companies getting rich.... |

Kevin
man, I haven't seen you since the model market days!
good luck with your run in local politics, I hope you're succesful.
Corpus needs some folks that operate to the tune of common sense in the local government ranks.

I thought about running at large. The issue is MONEY$$$. In order to effectively run at large, I would need to generate in the neighborhood of $75,000-$100,000 to run that campaign. It is down right impossible for a "no namer" so to speak to do that. That being said, my vote on the council if I'm elected is just as strong as that of an at large candidate, and I can have that same effect for 1/4 of the cost of an at large campaign.
The call to action is this - VOTE. Most people complain about city politics, but very few vote. I think the turn out averages less than 10%. The number 5-6% rings a bell, but I don't know that for fact.
Hopefully I will win - If I do, you know I post up on this board, and your issues will be heard - you won't all agree with me all the time, but I will do what is best for this community in my best judgement.
Also, If I'm elected, I'm thinking about proposing a new City Ordinance requiring at least 1 kayak in every garage... _________________ Vegetarian (n)...Old indian word for bad hunter |

most of us have a garage, will the city provide the kayak. what with just about everything being "FREE" in this world, seems logical to me.
be careful of promises, someone always remembers or thinks they remember.
good luck. _________________ ccbobber |

I thought it was just good advice. Some people just don't know any better! Did you see the lady after the inaguration that said she had no more worries, she didn't need to worry about paying for gas for her car or paying her mortgage anymore since "the one" was elected! _________________ GOBZA!!!
