Started getting bored today so put the boat in around 11:00a, figured there was no hurry with the moon as big as it was last night.
Water conditions in the ULM were pretty nice in some areas but sandy in others, because of the high winds. Fished the flats around Sulpher with topwaters (Highrollers) and caught redfish. Worked my way down to the north end of Emmords and caught a few small trout and again some more redfish. I didn't find any schools of redfish but there are alot of scattered fish in the clear water around the shoreline.
Fished the edge of the ditch with soft plastics and did pretty good on sand eels between the Bluff Channel and the Kennedy Bridge....did catch one flounder (It came home).
Fished around the Boat Hole before I came in, the current is still moving pretty good under the highlines and around the seaplane ramps.
The best part of the whole afternoon was the floating grass is all but gone
and that really made me happy.
If the wind lays tommrow the water conditions should get back to that pretty green all over.
Mike
Hell, it kept me interested enough to go back tommrow. Kinda nice to fish by yourself, it's been a long summer. |

Thanks for the report Mike, fishing has been really good and will only get better I need to get out and get a few more bags of fish for the fish fry. I might take off Friday and slip out, maybe as zach is supposed to be coming home this weekend before going to his ship in Everret, Washington. I need to get out and target some flounder. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

I am so ready to get salty, myself!!!! I will be down late Thursday evening and we plan on paddling somewhere in the area Fri AM. And then Friday afternoon/evening, we were thinking if the wind cooperates, we might put in off JFK and just fish our way across the backyard to the Blackhawk meeting. Do yall think we could get one of yall to shuttle Willie back to the truck while I stay with the kayaks at the Blackhawk and drink cold beer?
BTW --- Thanks, Mike, for the update. I am excited to hear it shaping up for a good weekend. |

I floated yesterday in front of Pita, but still found plenty of grass to clog the toppie. lots of small trout, no reds. 100% with you on the lack of pressure on the water, I saw a whopping grand total of TWO boats out the entire time.
gonna be a great fall on the water. _________________

| I don't think he does. I see him post a pic every now & then but I think he was just photo-shopping himself into someone else's picture. |

| Thanks Captain Mike. I needed a good report. I've been depressed after the storm with many of my old friends suffering up around Houston. I'm coming down this weekend to take the boards down and fish a little. |

Sounds like the water is getting better and better. I'll be on the water in Rockport Sat., hopefully the woman will land a breadwinner. |
