Name some things you'd like to do before you "Kick The Bucket"
I have been fortunate enough to fish for Peacock Bass, Catch a Sailfish, Salmon, camp in Baja, visit Flour Bluff and the Porch live here etc . I think I would like to fish Hawaii, live and fish in Alaska for a summer or two, fish Tierra del Fuego in South America for Sea Run Brown Trout, Go with Gary aka Team Buddhahead on one of those long trips out of Point Loma, visit and fish with Ted and Phil my Kiwi friends in New Zealand and finally I would like to find a megaladon tooth on PINS.
What is on your bucket list? |

some of the following would be on my list: visiit/Fish the Islands of Hawaii for big trevalli(>100lb list) and mahi, back to Seattle to catch halibut instead of ordering from a menu, fish PINS at night with a full moon over the gulf, starry night up through sunrise. Hire Deep sea HQ boat to take me back to all those nice rigs north of Port A(matagorda area?)where I caught a sailfish, lost some big somethings that could not be turned around and broke off in the rigs. Kick back in the Florida keys for a few weeks to fish. |

Awesome thread so far! Right on Stan, we are on the same page. What is fascinating to me is that none of you guys have listed fame, fortune or political aspirations to your lists. It's the simple things in life that are most rewarding and fullfilling. A few good friends, family, faith and....let us not forget fishing....The four "F"s if you will.
Hey Stan. If you care to drag a sidekick along with you to Ireland, I'm down. I've always wanted to visit the "Homeland". As far as fishing goes, I'm happy with what we have here in our Backyard. I've made lasting friendships and have created some great memories out there. Call me simple, but I have everything I will ever need or ever dreamed of at the present time. I Thank the Lord for each and every day I am allowed to continue on my current path. _________________ Grind |

After the kids are gone:
Hopefully retire then
Buy a 4x4 Truck & Camper travel w/ my lovely wife and kayak fish & mountain bike all the coasts of America.
Then visit Russia & Israel.
Then spend the rest of my days spoiling my grand kids rotten and take them fishing in a 16 metal jon boat. Oh I can see it now, taking the grandkids back home very late and super worn out from chasing fish all day.
Somewhere during that time be a free volunteer at my church or somewhere else.
Then when I die be set a drift off shore in my 16' jon boat for a viking funeral pire!
Of course this is an early list subject to changes of my mind and what ever else.
great thread |

Cool thread
1. Tour Baja -- This has been on my list since I was in high school but it has been refined a bit now............And I almost have done it as I have camped and fished part of it but not all of it. Since high school, I always have wanted to take several weeks to drive all the way down and back up Baja. And it was in a Toyota Land Cruiser circa 1975 year model with jerry cans of gas and the roof rack loaded with gear. Now I want to do it but I want to haul my kayak and tackle with me too. How cool would that be? Roosterfish from a yak!!!! living on Manana time for an extended vacation. I am going to do this one day.
2. Bonefish & Tarpon in Belize and Costa Rica.... I am afraid I would never come back from this one.
3. Kayak fish the Everglades for tarpon, reds, trout, and snook .. I gotten close but not in the Glades.....
4. I have always wanted to do one of those fly-in trips in Canada or Alaska.
5. A paddle trip in the land of 10,000 lakes in northern Minnesota
6. i would like to take an extended roadtrip touring New England in the fall.
7. Tour Europe on a Harley
8. Tour Africa on a BWM cycle
9. I got 2 grandsons already and welcome many more grandchildren. I want to spoil them and I want to teach them the outdoors. I can't wait to take them kayak fishing!!!
10. And if I can only have just one...Retire to some coast somewhere and spend the rest of my days doing what I love .....fishin, livin, & lovin (my wife) |
