I received quotes on home and auto insurance and looks like my current homeowners is competitive but the auto is out of whack.
Is anyone using Geico, Progressive or AAA for auto insurance? |

Geico for our auto, have been real good for the past 5 years.
Progressive for Boat, and they seem OK. |

We used to have Progressive for our truck and bus. We still have it for the bus, but they are pretty much the only option on a bus conversion.
Susie crashed and burned the truck near Duluth a few years ago. The other insurance company covered everything as Susie was 0% at fault. Progressive listed it as a chargeable accident for some reason, and we ended up paying a premium for that for 4 or 5 years.
We recently dumped Allstate for insurance through AARP and saved over $1000 per year. No help if you are under 50, but the AARP policy was written by Hartford. That is where I would start.
I've not had time to poke around with the homeowners, to find a company without a separate windstorm/hail policy. Susie got sick and I got busy.

I had Geico about 8 years ago and I ran my truck off a dirt road and into a fence. I thought they were fair on the claim and I got the check real quick. I had Progrssive after that and I never had any problems with them. I now have everything bundled with the homeowners through Farmers and it has been ok. Always seems to go up a little. |

I've always had good response from State Farm but have been with my agent and his group of folks for over twenty years. Don't know how much they fit into the equation.
Every time I shop it, I can't find a reason to switch.
Had someone kick in the door of my truck in the middle of the night quite a while back. They asked what happened. Told them, don't know, must have been a pack of mad flying squirrels. No problem we will fix it. Wife tried to park one of those giant conversion vans in a low roof parking garage (didn't work worth a poot). No problem, we will fix it...
I have never had a rate go up because of a problem.

I've been with them (USAA) since I was 16. I use them for banking, mortgages, auto loans, insurance, retirement accounts.......everything. I have compared rates and services and there is none better that I can find. My Grandfather was retired Air Force, so I had an in. I don't know what the requirements are now. They have always been very helpful and have great rates, even after some claims. Maybe Big John can help you.

I've had two cars with Progressive for about 10 years and they've been very good. One of the cars is a 2004 Celica that is on its 4th engine in 2 years. It was stolen 2 years ago and the thieves abandoned it after they blew the engine. The 2nd engine locked up when my 26 year old daughter drove through high water . The 3rd engine locked up 6 months later when my 26 year old daughter drove through high water again , so it's now on engine number 4. High water to a Celica is 4-6 inches deep because the air intake is so low to the ground. At any rate Progressive has replaced 3 engines and service has been great. So far no premium increase. _________________ If at first you don't succeed, neither have I. |

We've been with allstate for about 16 yrs. We may pay a little more but have never had a single problem. This is while the kids even had 3 accidents. Fred Loya tried to screw us on a claim, so I made a call and that was the last I had to deal with it. I don't think we really over pay cause my wife is in the business and she would done something different if we were paying too much.
